Vets... Please answer! Please help my dog! She's VERY sick!?
Can vets please answer my question...
We own a 4 year old Siberian Husky cross Malamute, (we live in Sydney, Australia) and have owned her since she was 3 months old. As of a couple of days ago, she has been very picky with eating. She didn't want to eat her raw chicken wings, or any raw meat, so we welcomed back feeding canned tuna (in brine) and a microwave potato. We used to love it. Especially fish. Saturday night she doesn't eat her tuna and potato from her bowl but when I hand feed it to her, she ate it all.
Last night my mum tried to feed her some raw meat, microwave potato and some string beans (we didn't have anymore tuna) but she would hardly any of it.
For the past week, she has had a bit of a fever, and I have noticed a couple times that she has lost her balance when turning around the place.
I took her for a walk last week because she seemed so deflated and bored. It took us 30 minutes to walk around the block instead of the usual 10 minutes. She walked very
Answer
Well, there's usually not a whole lot of vets on this site. And even if there were...what do you want them to do? They can't diagnose your dog without actually seeing her.
The best thing to do would be to take your dog to a vet. A dog not eating is usually a flashing sign that something is wrong. Just get her the the health care she needs.
Constipated dog? vet?
So my 6 year old Sheltie has been constipated for the past 24 hours or so and i read online that pumpkin could help with it. i fed her about 2 tablespoons about 10 minutes ago
and i was wondering when i should take her to the vet?
she's been trying to "relieve" herself but nothing is coming out...should i just continue with the pumpkin stuff in the morning?
Answer
give her a little more pumpkin but if she doesn't go within the half hour she could have an intestinal blockage, she could have eaten something the clogged her intestines and if its too big to pass she could die, but if you get her to the vet they could preform surgery if anything is wrong. if i were you i would be prepared to go to the vet just in case.
How much for a dog's vet bill?
I'm talking about an adult dog.
Answer
Well the bill for the vet can range anywhere from about $40 to $200 and depending on the medicine and treatment it might be higher. It will all depend on if the dog needs to stay overnight or the medicine prescribed. When my dog was alive the most I spent at the vet was $225.
Vet Sidekick- Opinions on Dog Breeds ?
I feel silly asking this, as I work in the vet industry and would like to think I know my dog traits. Sadly, most of the animals are terrified by the time I get to meet them and I spend more time pulling blood than socializing with them.
I'm looking for a male dog between 40-80 pounds to add to my family. I've only ever owned an Aussie, who's passed on now. I'd like a different sort of dog this time and I don't mind a more challenging breed. I would love to take him to the clinic each day so prone to dog aggression, separation angst and high prey drive won't work for me (I have cats). I prefer a short coat and solid body but personality is far more important.
I'm most taken with Golden Retrievers, Dobermans, Boxers, Dalmations and Siberian huskies. Owners of these wonderful breeds, you would know better than I which of these would fit my needs most, you live with them!
Any advice/information is greatly appreciated! Think a breed I haven't listed will work for me? Please let me know
Answer
My Vet takes all her dogs to work with her and they all get along fine with the other dogs that come in and out...she has a Great Dane, Whippet, Italian GreyHound, and a Chihuahua mix.
