MyPetDog.infoBuying a Dog:I want to buy a dog what can you suggest as a German Shepherd is to common. Answer GOLDEN RETRIEVER, DALMATIONS, ETC. ARE GOOD. YOU CAN ALSO BUY PUGS. THEY ARE COSTLY BUT CAN BE BEST FRIENDS FOR A LIFE TIME.\
What is the best place to buy a dog from? A pet store, or a breeder? I got my dog from a breeder and he is really doing well. I want to know other people's opinions about breeders...ya know... if they're a good thing or not. Please answer. Thanks.
Beck Answer A reputable breeder would want to choose where the pups they brought into the world were homed. The pet store doesn't seem to care what happens to the pup once the credit card goes through.
Best time to buy a dog (winter or spring) ? We have been thinking about buying (adopting) a dog (puppy) for a long time. We just saw one that we liked, but it's the middle of the winter. That means the dog will have to stay inside more often than he would if it was warm outside. Should I wait?
Answer First, dogs should stay inside regardless of what season it is. Yes it's ok to leave them out for a little while as long as you are watching them and as long as they have somewhere to go for shelter in the event that something would happen. As for there being a best time to buy a dog, I don't think that matters. I've gotten dogs in all of the four seasons and haven't found much of a difference except when it comes to potty training - it's a little more uncomfortable taking your new pup outside all the time when it's snowing and cold than when it's warm with the sun shining!
Why do people insist upon buying a pet as a "toy" even though they cannot afford basic veterinary treatment? Answer Because they think its going to be easy when its really not after they find out what its like to take care of a pet. In reality they want the pet there as long as they don't have to be responsible for cleaning up after it, feeding it, giving it a bath and so on.
